Ragner Relay 2010

We are looking to put together at least 4, 12 person teams for the 2010 Southern California Ragnar Relay. In 2009, we entered 1, 12 person team. We can tell you that it was an absolute blast! Our team members were able to raise over $15,000 to support FaithQuest Missions’ work in Africa and around the world!
If you interested in joining us for the event or want to organize a team with your church or friend network, contact shane@teamfaithquest.org.
Here are some of the memories from 2009:
Here is a bit of information from the Ragnar site:
PICTURE THIS: Beach Bunnies. Movie Premiers. You and 11 of your closest friends running day and night. Starting in the American Riviera, Santa Barbara, your team of 12 runners will embark on a 177 mile adventure-fest. The party in your van will only get better as you leap frog your way down the beautiful Pacific Coast. You’ll feel the ocean-spray as you fly past the star-studded Malibu, Ca and the “South-Swells” of Huntington Beach. The race (and your stamina) will wrap up where the spectacular bluffs meet the crashing waves of Dana Point.

Running three legs during a 24-hour relay race is much easier than you
think. Each team member runs three legs, ranging between 3 and 8 miles. This relay race is physically demanding, but legs vary in difficulty, and runners can choose their legs. This unique relay format makes Los Angeles an accessible race for beginners yet challenging enough for the most competitive.

How do you get from one exchange to the next? Each team is allowed two support vehicles. The first vehicle will drop off the first runner, drive ahead a few miles, cheer the runner on, and provide them with water, snacks, and plenty of love. That vehicle will then drive ahead to the first exchange point to drop off the second runner and pick up the first runner when that leg is complete. They will repeat this pattern for six legs until they hand off to their second vehicle. This leapfrogging pattern will continue all the way to the finish line.

Wooaaaa! This was an EPIC event last year! I really can’t believe how much fun we had and the incredible effect on enabling and equipping FaithQuest to carry out it’s mission! We are looking for both individual runners this year as well as leaders who feel they can assemble their own teams of 12 or 6! Oh my goodness this is going to be awesome! Let’s roll! – Flash

I am planning on doing this also. Its going to be tough for the rest of my group that has signed up being first time runners in general. I think it is an ambitious goal. 5 months time will tell.

I signed up for this run. We are short some people though but we are excited. Good luck on finding more teams though!
