We are an army of adventure-junkies who have decided to push our bodies in feats of athleticism for the greater cause of bringing the hope of Jesus to the world. There is no trail, pavement, mountain or body of water that is safe from our attack. We’re going strong, we’re multiplying rapidly and we’re doing it for a prize that lasts. We are Team FaithQuest and we will CLIMB, BIKE, SWIM and RUN for the PRIZE. (1 Cor. 9:24)
It all began with Shane. By no divine revelation or brilliant enlightenment, Shane was a guy who liked to run and simply thought, “There has got to be a way that I can tie my Christian faith into running and do it for a greater purpose.” So he reached out to John, Lori, and Jordan over at FaithQuest Missions with the idea of getting some people together to do a run to raise financial support for the work of FaithQuest. BRILLIANT! 12 runners came together in 2009 to run the SoCal Ragnar Relay, a 200 mile Relay race, and all committed to raising money through it for the global missions work of FaithQuest. Over $15,000 was raised! After that… it exploded.
Team FaithQuest had taken root. They began to participate in marathons, half-marathons and obstacle runs. Then it branched out—the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada, a climb to the top of Kilimanjaro, quadrupling the size of the Ragnar team and hosting a century cycling event. Thousands upon thousands of dollars are being generated for missions. The explosion that is Team FaithQuest began with one guy and one simple vision, but God has delighted to grow it exponentially! The praise belongs to our God!
What else?—to have FUN! Okay, okay, I guess we can be more official than that. How’s this: To engage people and their churches to participate in athletic events and raise resources to equip FaithQuest Missions, it’s projects, and it’s partners. Additionally, to spur on personal involvement in the global trip opportunities with FaithQuest Missions.
Our Partner: FaithQuest Missions
FaithQuest is determined to be a catalyst to mobilize people and their churches to put their faith into action. We are eager for all to experience the exciting journey of transformation that often occurs when we respond to the message of Jesus to “Go” (Mark 16:15 and Matthew 28:19-20) and step into a great faith-adventure trip to places where together we can love God, love others, and have a blast!
