Event

Q: Okay, so how does this thing work? Do I just go out, do my thing, and then check in when it’s all over? 

A: NO, of course not! We want to do it with you! We will be issuing a challenge calendar closer to the event start, but you can expect to have a mix of solo and small group type challenges to join.

Q: Do I have to do something EVERY DAY???

A: No! I mean, you can if you want to, but that’s not what we are asking. All we are asking is that you do something as often as you can to help add miles to the 25,000 mile goal. If that means you go BIG on the weekends and not so much (or at all) during the weekdays, then so be it. Just do your thing and challenge yourself!

Q: Which methods of travel am I allowed to use for this event?

A: Any non-motorized method is okay with us. Walk, run, cycle, hike, swim, row, big wheel, skateboard, ice block, roller skate, surf, or hang glide. As long as you aren’t being propelled by a motor, we are fine with it. Get creative and have fun with it!

Q: Why is there a mandatory donation to join this event AND I’m being asked to raise support?

A: To be perfectly honest, these events aren’t free. The donation helps cover the costs directly associated with hosting the event itself so that as much as possible of the funds raised can go to supporting the cause.

Strava

Q: What is Strava?

A: Strava is an app that turns every iPhone, Android, or GPS device into a sophisticated activity tracker. We have partnered with them to be able to keep track of our total miles.

Q: Do I have to be a paid member of Strava to have my miles count?

A: Not at all. A basic membership at Strava is free and as long as you join the Freedom Quest club, everything you do there will be counted toward our goal.

Q: Is using Strava a requirement of this event?

A: Not at all. During the event, there will be a link where you can manually enter the number of miles you covered.

Support Raising

Q: When can I start raising support?

A: As soon as you have your personal support page all set up, you can start raising funds toward your committed goal and beyond! If you haven’t already set up your personal support page, do it now!

Q: How do I raise the support amount I committed to?

A: Check out our fundraising support page for some tips that we have had success with over the years.

Q: What happens if I do not raise my committed amount?

A: The short answer: Nothing. The long answer: Still nothing. However, we pray that you do your best to get as close as possible.

Q: Is there a deadline to raise support for this event?

A: Yes. All support raising will stop on June 7, 2021.
